I recently collaborated with Marc O’Polo to shoot and art direct their WHITE STONES collection which launched end of May 2021. Thanks to Marc O’Polo I had the opportunity to shoot in the beautiful village Etretat in the Normandy in France a couple weeks ago. It’s all about minimal and soft shapes and colors made out of the softest linen.

In homage of traveling, summer and joie de vivre, which the Chanel Cruise collection is all about, I am wearing a typical travel outfit of mine but with a little wink since we can’t travel at the moment and Paris is still a bit on the colder side.
Relaxed denim, a cozy jacket and a plain t-shirt. I left the big bag at home since I am already at my destination in Paris but added a few fun accessories.
Today is all about enjoying the moment.

THE SHOW
For the Cruise 2021/22 show, Virginie Viard commissioned the photographic duo Inez & Vinoodh to shoot a teaser in the heart of Gabrielle Chanel’s legendary apartment at 31 rue Cambon in Paris.
In the run-up to the CHANEL Cruise 2021/22 show at the Carrières de Lumières, in the village of Les Baux-de-Provence, the House unveils a first teaser in the form of a mood board.
Images from Jean Cocteau’s film Testament of Orpheus (1960), filmed at the Carrières de Lumières, are shown alongside letters sent by the poet to Gabrielle Chanel, like evidence of their friendship. Two free spirits with their own unique worlds, united notably by a fascination for bestiaries, from the man with a black horse’s head in Testament of Orpheus to the animals in Gabrielle Chanel’s apartment at 31 rue Cambon, in Paris, photographed for the occasion by Inez & Vinoodh. Photos of the Carrières de Lumières and of flowers from Provence, also taken by the Dutch duo, complete the teaser, like an invitation to travel.
